Could look into kit cars. Even if you don't have the garage space to put it together, a local mechanic could do it.
Why, kit cars are the least safe cars on the road.
Well, OP was talking about non-woke. Kit cars are guaranteed to not be big corporate behemoths, so that's why I suggested it.
As far as safety, they aren't all hot rods: there is a large variety of kit cars, and I'm sure you can find one with a satisfactory safety rating. Plenty of room for individual tastes.
I disagree. Better for him to buy a well maintained used Toyota or Honda that can last him a lifetime. Corporate still gets nothing out of a used sale unless he buys oem replacement parts, in which case buying 300 bucks worth of parts for preventive maintenance is nothing compared to a 30k+ purchase on a new car, truck or suv
