Now that you know it could come back to you, but I would think that's unlikely.

You can forget it and move on, or you can report it directly or anonymously. If you think that your work will hold it against you for knowing and not saying anything, then speak to a lawyer. If HR is corrupt and will do nothing, then why do anything?
