I feel for this guy. Our 11 year old collie got this last summer this time. Our younger dog got sick and shook it off, the older one was fine and then had a fever of 107. In like a matter of hours. He went from running to fever. Off we go to the emergency vet. They said is was a rare form of kennel cough that there was no vax for. He ended with a pneumonia and fluid in his lungs. One week in the hospital and 3 more weeks sick at our home on antibiotics. I had to gently pound his sides to break up the fluid daily. He pulled through. Just amazing really because the vet gave him no chance. Stubborn bastard. That one dog cost almost 3000.00 between meds, emergency overnight vets and vets. This poor guy...I cant imagine his bill.
