Trial venues are moved all the time because a defendant can't get an impartial jury in the original jurisdiction.

Trials are moved in exceptional circumstances. The precedence in the DC federal court is that they decide impartiality after they voir dire the potential jurors, that's where they ask jurors questions and the lawyers for either side can reject a certain number of them.
