Parents. Always the parents. Predators should never be given the opportunity; a parent's role is to protect and nurture their child. Foisting them into the arms of a predator is worse than the predator itself, because while being a predator is repugnant and needs to be purged, a parent willingly giving their child to the predator is an act of betrayal to all foundational values of every standard known to humankind.
