If there's nothing there why did they station you there? Because it's an Army installation and you go where they send you.
Did they not expect you to notice the vault was empty? Do you seriously believe that anyone can just walk into that place and take a look around? Do you seriously believe that the few people that have to go in there for official business actually get to see the entire place?
