Read it years ago; well-written, well-researched, and worth having a copy. Mine's in a box somewhere in the garage.
They passed the 17th amendment to get the 18th.
And the 17 is one of the big ones that fucked up our country.
I hope that's in the book.
The Temperance women were sometimes vicious and violent, they destroyed private property.
The only reason Democrats ever gained a majority again after the Civil War was because of Republicans pushing Prohibition in the 1890s.
