Hi. Yes I am a Lakota or as the French named us Sioux. We have a word in Lakota it is Mitakuye Oyasin it means we are all related by one God. We all have a history of wrong. We had wars with other tribes and the Cheyenne at one time but we became Brothers and Sisters with our Cheyenne families. So we also made mistakes. When my 4th Generation Grt. Grandmother lost her brother and his wife at Wounded knee in 1890. It was the Christian voices that stood up for us back then. We have never forgotten their kindness and it is passed down to each Generation so we always remember this kindness. It is time for healing the human family and all life created by our Creator. Jesus shared wisdom in his words forgiveness. And I learned the true value of this wisdom with Gods help.
I find it wrong to blame innocent people who had no say to what happened in the past. Just as I had no say in the wars in the past with other tribes. But my message is it is time for healing for all life.
We all share the same problem with alcohol and drugs with the people. may we all sit together one day and find a solution to help them all to walk the good path of life. But they want to divide us do not fall for it. Lets spread the good energies our Creator and Jesus wanted us to share. We owe it to our children to give them a better world then the one we lived in. What these evil ones offer is not the answer. They are the same problem of the past that only brings harm and suffering. They already tell you we will own nothing and be happy, while they own everything. There is your sign.

I am happiest when I am out west! I don't know if it is just nostalgia, because I had some awesome family vacations out west when I was a child, but I just feel energized when out in the canyons, deserts, mesas, and mountains, of the west! Take care, and we will meet in Heaven some day!
The good energies of all God created are around you. Embrace them while losing the negative energies. When you got away from the negative energies you experienced this and now you know the difference and can now always connect with them .

An unrelated question: As a Native American, what are your thoughts/opinions on the attempts to remove Native American school and team names, and mascots?
If you remove names and all are people going to remember ? They will forget. Being Lakota and the French called us Sioux which we did not warm up to. Defined means little snakes. When we first heard them use Native American we were stunned and asked this question. If you are born in America what are you a Native of ? This shows you politicians how engage their pie holes while their brains are shut off. We recommend not to vote for this person.
It was unfair because many white people and others thought this was right and went along with it. But they never asked us to begin with what our thoughts were. Their is a backlash coming with Native American and Redskins. They want to be called American Indians and want the name Redskins back !
I can not speak for other tribes. But our tribe was notorious for not agreeing with one another. We still loved and defended each other we just did not agree. Example with the sacred prayer songs. I always agreed with Frank Fools Crow that these sacred prayer songs should be shared and taught. And those who did not agree did not fully understand Spirituality. Now we all agreed they were sacred prayer songs and should be respected, but we spilt on those who wanted them to be kept secret and only shared by a few and those who thought this was from God and should be shared with all.
I posted on Youtube that I had no problem with the word Redskins. I said when we gather to speak we call each other skins short for redskins on the Rez words get shortened. So there is the Rez language and there is the formal way we speak. No shortcuts. I asked since we call each other skins does that make us racists against ourselves ? And if we call ourselves Redskins are we racists against ourselves ? I said I laugh when I see the name Washington Redskins because we always knew what a pain in the butt Washington DC was ,and people are just finding this out what we have always known. Youtube removed my post as it did not support their race bait narrative. I guess they feel they will tell us what we are supposed to think and say.
