A Maui resident has told several news outlets “the water shut off” while he and other members of the Maui community were battling fires.

During a large fire event the demand for water is so high that the system will fail. It happened approx 8:30 pm in Colorado during the Marshal fire NW of Denver two years ago. Tender shuttles em started which can’t keep up when 1000 homes are threatened.
