We have a 2nd home in a very small Mississippi town. I was having a conversation with my neighbor and I asked well what's the latest news around town. He answered "the number of funerals". I said "what"? He said he's never attended so many funerals of family and friends. It seems like there's one every week now. How old are the folks dying I asked? He said they were "too young to die". They were in their 40s, 50s & 60s. Sad because I believe I know what the common denominator is!

Certainly a possibility, but I would like to see hard numbers of death rate increase on a state by state level.
Unfortunately, we all know that data would almost certainly be compromised- so the only real way of knowing would be taking samples of funeral homes across multiple states to see how business has increased year over year, from 2019 to 2023. And that information isn't freely available.
