He could have simply posted a link to the evidence. A PDF, a video, whatever. He could have called whatever media he wanted for an immediate and impromptu press conference yesterday or today, and they would have shown up.

He already had the attention of the press with his announcement , but somehow "legal filings" are the better route?

This feels like another "two weeks" to me.
