I just heard from my friend here, he is a construction project manager i Sevierville, about 30 minutes from Knoxville. I am pasting his reply here verbatim:
I know a lot of metal fabricators here. I contract out with them all the time on projects. The big one in Knoxville is Goddard Metal.
Sounds like he can work anywhere. But there will be an initial downturn in income. Perhaps you will save enough in taxes and housing costs to cushion the transition.

I will tell him.
This is the incentive he needs.
He can fabricate anything. He is building a boat trailer this weekend for someone.
The owner of his company told him the other day after he did something at work they would ship work to him if he moves. Then he can fix and ship back.
This is how valuable he his.
Not saying it because I am married to him it is the truth.
I believe you. 🙂
