Where are you getting this idea that Walmart is hurting?
BENTONVILLE, Ark., Aug 17, 2023 – Walmart Inc.
(NYSE: WMT) announces second quarter results,
including strong revenue and operating income
growth of 5.7% and 6.7%, respectively.
For a long time, Walmart seemed like the unstoppable juggernaut of the retail world, but things haven't been looking so great for the retail giant. In fact, they just announced another round of closures. So what's going on with Walmart, and will it get better or worse?
I may have overstated it a bit but the competition from online retailers is real causing Walmart to shut down hundreds of underperforming stores. Amazon is a real threat and the retail deserts in big cities created by absurd Dem policies doesnt help. If the people were to boycott Walmart they wouldnt be able to hide the bottom line through creative accounting any longer.
These store closings go back to 2016 at least but have accelerated since 2019. The retail market is in flux and of course Walmart may figure out new strategies to compete. Most retailers have already begun the online retail and delivery but competing with Amazon in this market at this point is a tough row to hoe.
Walmart cant compete with Amazons infrastructure as of yet. To put this in perspective it took my Mom 6 weeks to get 4 cans of corn delivered from Walmart.
One thing to keep in mind is that it took decades for Sears and KMart to go under. Sears was at one time the undisputed champ of retail similar to Walmart. Shifting markets can decimate retailers who arent agile enough to keep up.
Walmart is already hurting, closing down many stores since 2019. A good boycott could hit them hard.
But the real danger is Amazon. People like having their shit delivered to them. I have neighbors that get something every single day.
I was hoping Game Stop or Mike Lindell would begin building infrastructure to take down Amazon.
