are we *the place* for anons now? I know 4chan, 8chan/kun, voat and some of reddit all fell for us, is there anywhere else? was there?
🗣️ DISCUSSION 💬
curious. i see some old school people breeze through and talk of the old days, i came in when reddit shut down the_donald.
Most dissenting comments get a lazy downvote if it doesn't jibe with their thinking.
That's not really what a downvote is for in my opinion.
Discussion should be the outcome of dissenting opinions and increasingly it just isn't the case here.
Of course there are still great discussions to be had within this framework, and some of the pitfalls of voat are avoided by operating in this manner.
Two different worlds I suppose
So I partially agree with you. I believe people should definitely seek to engage in more constructive discussions with the views they might not believe. Doing it in a loving way that furthers dialogue..As far as downvotes... I think thick skin is a super important layer to any truth spread person. If we let a downvote discourage discussion then how much more will we allow it to effect us in real life, when people begin to allow emotions to flow as we share truth. It's all part of the building up the digital warriors. It all plays a part. Even those here to discourage us thru downvotes(as in that's there only purpose) are really only building up a stronger digital warriors that can then begin spreading truth in the world.
Also it's kind of a lead by example thing to. People notice our actions. So the more than seek to have that dialogue then the more that will want to join in. Sometimes I simply take the outsider approach even if I agree with the current topic taking place.
