First showing occurred in Kenosha WI on 8/11/1939. Second showing in Oconomowoc WI on 8/12-15,1939. Lots of good tidbit in this link. Disney”s “Mickey”s Parrot” was the opening cartoon And oconomowoc WI is considered the beginning of the yellow brick road

The original ad for the showing at the Strand theater Oconomowoc boasts it’s the biggest movie since “Snow White”
