I've done it for 20 years and it works best. Anyone have a better way, i'm all ears.. trust me when i say i've heard a lot of 'better ways' in that time.
I've found prayer, fasting and Christ-based meditation works for me when I'm overstressed.
Dealing with my anger at what these Dark Side cretins are doing to this world, its children and people is my biggest trial. Some days I just want to let out a loud scream because I have my own - not God's - ideas as to what I'd like done to those who foment so much evil. The aforementioned prayer works somewhat, but I still have issues with anger.
I think OP is on to something regarding all these natural disasters. They are definitely trials to test a soul's mettle. The disasters also expose our leaders competence or incompetence to the people.

Nobody is commenting on the huge underwater volcano eruption near Tonga that sent lots of water into the atmosphere. It eventually falls down, hence too much rain and then floods. It was like, as much water as is already on earth, or some other unimaginable amount. I forgot the details. Sorry.
HEY so I’m in CA 17 miles from Oji epicenters. ( yes 17 ). I’ve been hearing ( three times ) like a straight sound like…a really heavy metal door opening? exactly before the bigger quakes. One was this morning.
