That's a rough situation. I feel sorry for all the good people involved. I narrowly avoided something very similar with my mother, and a friend of mine managed to protect his aunt with a court order ... and later found out that the order was issued only a single day before the demented lady was tricked into signing a POA to a true vulture! That one day saved him from a very messy situation.
I wish I could help more, but I'll add this situation to my prayer list. God's justice cannot come soon enough for these thieves who deny humanity and pretend to hide their soul-less acts behind a piece of paper.
If there is any legal claim it is with the title company or title attorney who facilitated the closing. It is their responsibility to assure the transaction is legal. They are all backed by massive title insurance companies that insure them against defects. Talk to an experienced Realtor in that state and they can explain the process for the state where the property is located. That is the free information you can get quick and easy.
Have you made a claim against the title insurance company. They facilitated an illegal transaction, so they have liability. Their job is to assure that the seller had the legal right to sell the property.
Laws and agencies vary by state, but the state has an agency that goes by the name of "Division of Real Easte" often operating under the "State Department of Finance". Also contact the state "Attorney General's Office". These agencies all have "Consumer Complaint Departments". You can file complaints against the title agency, title insurance company and the business that acted as the buyer. The gov't agencies have the power to suspend or revoke the licenses of all involved.
Sounds like elder abuse to me. There might be recourse there as well.

So sick of scumbags. Hope you get some recourse.
Your aunt had power of attorney I assume?
Hard to understand what happened. How did this work?
