Bush Creek East as it is now called (2 fires merged into one HUGE Complex)
BCWS backburn a failure.

This is the main hwy thru Canada West to East. Closed. 46000 hectares in the Shuswap Lake resort area. Many homes and businesses lost. Firefighters left Friday to "regroup" in the middle of this firestorm and the local who have stayed are now threatened with arrest, food and water blocked, (unless a permit is received lolol) they need diesel, able and knowledgable manpower and prayers.
From Janice Ban-man (local)
"Yesterday's very stern threat not to go in and save your own property on TV from govt was disturbing. They said let the professionals do it, your going to hamper the efforts .. well in Scotch Creek they left town and were ready to let it burn over 300,000,000. In infrastructure... They say the back burn saved thousands of homes ?? We say it contributed to it. July 12 when the Adams lake fire started was the time Govt should have jumped on it."

Brad Colonna "I’m no expert but that photo clearly shows the back burn went the other way! Who’s going to be responsible for approving that ignition now that it has caused millions of dollars in damage? That’s the question that needs to be answered."

Locals are asking for assistance to "get the word out"
Many small communities reporting same issues. Mini Maui without the DEW.
EDIT; Just got report from locals that all roads between communities has been blocked. The war has started in British Columbia seems like.
Seen the old abandoned Greek restaurant in Prince George blew up ?. Area is saturated with homeless or was, many dead.
I have family in the Shuswap area and they stayed and fought the fires. They say that since Friday, no BCWS crews till today. Now today just small crews coming in. Meanwhile the fires continue and re-ignite and sadly they did not get any Hillary rain, it seems to have gone to the east. Many in the community do not have insurance. Now no power, cell coverage is spotty. The RCMP are not going after looters just trucks with supplies and food. Winter is 6 -8 weeks out and time is wasting. INSANITY
Hi Fren…. We have chatted here before. I just got back from our summer trip to the Shu. I can’t get my head around the devastation in the area, what a disaster. The good news is the people from this area are strong and resilient and self sufficient and when the smoke clears, and it will, they will pick up the pieces and carry on with dignity. I had a good chat with Craig and Darla and Matt on the beach up at Seymour this summer, I believe we share a connection through this family. This family exemplifies the spirit of the North Shuswap and as long as they are there the spirit of self sufficiency will live on. God bless.
My Peeps they are. DNA is Divine. Here for a reason. Thank you for the connect. I am a South Texan now (past 30 years) and here for a reason as well. I do have the genetic Temper of that family. LOL Kicking ass and taking names when we walked out of the womb.
The Big Man called just now with an update.............Tired. Had gone thru 6 checkpoints to get from Lee Creek to Anglemont. LMAO. Said the Canadian military is there with 4-6 guys plus 2 RCMP at each check point. I asked if the Canadian military was assisting with food/supply delivery, home protection, or anything besides harassment of local citizens trying to save homes and lives. Response...."Nope, are you shittin me" Said the big stuff is out in their area, just some spot fires and a line of fire thru Corning Creek canyon. Apparently fire front is still rocking in Turtle Valley though.
Wow, thanks for the update…. Was Lee Creek hit that hard?? Looks like the area was spared a little. Scotch Creek and Celista are unrecognizable. A buddy of mine took a trip up the shoreline in his boat and sent me a video. My boyhood home is still standing but many houses in the vicinity are destroyed. Our family doesn’t own it anymore but I’d hate to see it burn. I’ve seen lots of people complaining about the “authorities” interfering with local people trying to protect their property…. I really wouldn’t expect anything less.
This has been a tough fire season but the amount of devastation has been unprecedented. I think this is just another symptom of the failure of all our public institutions in Canada. Health care has failed, you can’t get a passport, can’t get a gun licence, can’t get through to CRA by telephone and now they can’t put out small brush fires…. Everything the government is responsible for has gone to shit.
