Covid took over the world around 3 and a half years ago. The shut downs, ended around 2 and a half years ago. The Vax mandate madness ended around a year and a half ago.
Yet there's a small percent of us that absolutely adored every moment of the insanity. Today, I saw a guy running outside in 101 degree temperate while wearing a mask.
I'm pretty sure that there have been 4 boosters now, so that would be a total of 6 vaccine shots these people would have endured to date to feel safe. Yet, obviously they are signalling to the world they do not feel safe, because they are wearing a mask.
At work, there is a long haired Trump hating hippie (used to work in my department) that I see occasionally. He has never stopped wearing TWO masks. Why?? I hate reaching him on the phone because his voice is always so muffled.
Certainly these mask wearing fearful types must have tested for covid more times than anyone else around. My guess is they have all had at least 2 cases of Covid with syptoms and 2 cases of Covid without symptoms. They clearly must know it is unlikely they will die from this disease.
They're behavior is really inexplicable. It kind of reminds me of the savages that worshipped the power of King Kong or some other mighty force of nature whose nature must be revered.
Now it looks like the government might want to return to the mandates again. Most people will think "NO! What a pain in the ass over nothing that would be!" Yet, these people are elated about it. It is like they learn there will be a sequel to their favorite movie.
Does anyone here have a relationship close enough with a person like this to understand what they are really thinking?
My brother has been sick for about a week and he told me he was going back to wearing a mask. I didn't say anything, if I did we would have gotten into a shouting match and then he would say "I don't want to talk about it" and I would say "you know my stance on that so why did you even bring it up?" I know better than to bring up certain subjects with him, he's a CNN junkie. I know he has gotten all his boosters. My second cousin said he had covid 5 times. I'm sure he's boosted to the max also. Fear is the mind-killer.
