The title of this post is misleading. Its a propsal to ban inefficient ceiling fans. Its not much different than when the EPA put emissions limits on wood stoves. That put a lot of small garage-based stove makers out-of biz, sending new business to the big manufacturers.

This is really an attack on small business, and more disgusting government taxation. You can be sure that fan makers will have to pay a fee to be "certified". They claim that it will save people money in reduced power consumption. No, it will cost more, because fans will become more expensive to purchase.
