Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
I think one of the best ways to enlighten folks who have had the vax, and seem to be so far okay from it, (in my circles), is to point out as tactfully as you can, that the vaccines did nothing for them as regards to catching Covid. I know of 3 women over the age of 70 who had the shots, (these are active women, not couch potatos, who eat well and are in good shape), and ended up with Covid 3x already, I just saw a neighbor and friend at the market, and we were catching up, she and her husband caught it again, 3rd time. I just stared blankly at her, and said, but you were vaccinated. I did not say "told you so" or, anything that sounded like anti vax, just "but you were vaccinated". I saw her raise her eyebrow at me, and say, "yeah, whats that about, I guess it really didn't do a thing". I find diplomacy works, because if I immediately try to "prove" something, a persons defenses go up , its just human nature. Insight comes to most people when they are encouraged to think for themselves and this gave me the perfect opportunity. Interesting enough was that she said the nurse at the Health Center told her not to worry about it, that she will never catch it again. I thought that was interesting.
Yeah people know without us telling them. I always just nod and say hmm.. when people are beginning to use their God given common sense. When I’m asked if I took the jab, I just say no, I don’t take any vaccines. I prefer to stay healthy in other ways. I’m just happy that people are finally beginning to question. Been a long time coming.
Very well done. In many cases, this is the approach we need to take. We need to help people think for themselves. It's the lack of thinking for oneself that is the big problem, more so than any one issue. This is part of our role in the Great Awakening.
