I think you are dead wrong on Sessions.

At the start of the administration Trump needed someone in place to get the ball rolling. Someone he could trust. When that job was complete and people in place Sessions was removed and publicly excoriated by Trump. That was a show. Even now we don't hear anything of Sessions, and I don't think we will until this thing is over, and Trump makes it public that he was an ally.

On the other hand he put in Rosenstein, Barr, and Fauci, so that they could show themselves to be criminals. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer.
