Every human on earth shares DNA from a small group of ancestors sometime in our past. I don't see where you see the impossibility in this.

Did Noah realize the Earth was over 4 Billion years old or was he part of the lore that claimed it was 6000 years old?
So far as science is the human pursuit of the understanding of God's creation it is perfectly valid.
I have no idea if the Earth is 4 Billion years old or 6000 years old or something else. And I do not believe that scripture makes a case for either.
Genesis says the Earth was created in 6 days.
Science says it took billions of years longer.
So when you cite DNA research to support the story of the Great Flood, it instantly becomes vague and dubious.
