Reddit was destroyed through the obvious methods varying groups employ provided they're able to pressure the upper levels of staff / leadership:

Bots that post narrative-supporting information.
Encourage positive responses and mass-downvote-spam any dissenting opinions. If they're big users / a problem, falsify a ban or distraction-reason, or just leak their information for hackers.
For moderated reddit stuff, simply have 'controlled accounts' or bots spam banned / illegal information, downright disgusting, etc.
Get news to make it a 'big deal' / encourage a crackdown. Or, apply Youtube method of waiting for 'the people' to notice, and then push for a crackdown.

Congrats, you've subverted a site through a variety of modern methods, resulting in them either pushing your agenda, falling in line, or outright leaving.

I got muted in one subreddit for saying something I posted in A DIFFERENT SUBREDDIT which I hardly ever visited. It was fairly innocuous too. That was the last straw for me. I killed my 11 year old reddit account. (I was a fairly early redditor, before the refugees from Digg came over and ruined it.)

These fuckers censor ANYTHING that goes against their narrative. Recent example.
