What if I told you that all of the worlds religions have either been created or co-opted by the hidden hand.. what if I told you that most of us don’t practice the same mercy we wish to obtain for ourselves.. what if I told you that in order to obtain forgiveness, you first must learn to forgive and forgive.. what if I told you that Christianity has the most version and sects out of any religion, because it was Christianity that almost unified humanity, but the hidden hand caused the divisions and corrupted Christianity and its purpose… what if I told you that your churches are not there to shine light on the darkness, but to expand that darkness by separating the light… what if I told you that there is a straight path out of darkness in unity, the pyramid or prism divides the light into its many different colors, but the light remains one, even in its division light is still light… how long will you allow the prism/pyramid to divide you from the rest of you?
Where we go one, we go all.
I do enjoy philosophy so please do explain if possible and clarify if you can.
This is what I get, it seems to me that you are trying to explain that your belief system is intellectual and therefore is not a belief system or a religion of the self and that it can not be compared to someone who’s belief is based upon a religion because religions are just unproven and unverified stories and yours is based upon your self and you believe that if you merely remain neutral on matters it will inherently result in a better outcome for you compared to someone who has excepted the belief system of a religious text and drawn a line in the sand for what he believes to be truth and what is not?
If you don’t believe in the system or methodology you use to judge matters then you would not use it? But you do believe that it has merit to you so you choose to believe in its process, so in conclusion it is belief system and your religion and it governs your action and what merit you see in the matters before you. Correct?
All I can say is go back and read what I actually wrote. I am trying not to succumb to the folly of taking it for granted that things are how I think they are and not how they actually are.
I understand what you wrote.
What I’m trying to show you is that within what you wrote are a few things I’m trying to bring to your own awareness whether you accept and continue in those trains of thought is up to you but they are there all the same.
One would be your skepticism of an individual (yourself included) being capable of searching out truth and coming to truthful conclusions.
Your doubt and skepticism limits your quest because your afraid of being wrong.
Second that statement makes it appear that you are waiting for some authority to come out with a grand reveal and dictate to you all things truthful. Dwell on that for a moment and compare it to your skepticism of religion and control which is at the heart of this post.
Discernment is not given or inherited it’s earned and if you don’t have your machete out hacking through the thick jungle of lies and deceit and sometimes failing and coming to wrong conclusions you will never have the discernment to be a self governed individual free from the manipulation of others.
Is there such thing as "settled science?" I really do not think you understand what I have said.
"...belief is so powerful believers can experience or know something as absolute truth that is not real. It affects everyone to varying degrees. I think it will be shocking to find out just how much of the world we think has objective characteristics is actually a projection of a synthesized reality created by our own mind. That is why I say I try not to believe anything if I can help it."
