If he was emotional he wouldn't trust the plan, and I KNOW he trusts the plan.

He knows the plan AND it makes him emotional! He knows what lies ahead and he knows that we DON'T know! That would make anyone emotional. He looks a their faces, their strong love and support and he feels compassion for what the people are going through and what they WILL go through. It's not black and white.
