We booked a hotel room based on an online recommendation through our credit card. It was so bad that we left and went to a different hotel. We called a relative who works for the IT side of a very large hotel chain. He told us that many chains, both large and small, participate in trafficking. He only recommended a few to stay at in the future. I am a little reluctant to name names on a public site. This is WY we can be unsafe traveling...... hate to wyn,
List them please.
At the very least, please list the ones that are safe to go to.
One of the ones he told us was safe was Red Roof Inn which we now know is allegedly not safe based on a court case in Ohio. Wyndham was also named in that case and is the one that he told us to avoid. Bear in mind that Wyndham owns many hotels by various names. We booked with a Howard Johnson's at the recommendation of our credit card company and it is one of many of the Wyndham hotels. It was beyond skanky and the manager on shift is someone that I would never want to meet again unless he truly had a "come to Jesus" moment. There was a Ramada Inn up the road that we were told by locals to stay away from for the same reasons. We were extremely exhausted and booked at a Hilton Doubletree at close to midnight. Our relative recommended Marriot and Hilton. If you're on a budget, you may want to take the plunge and invest in the best camping equipment you can afford. 😟
