Also, why are so many preachers heavy handed on the subject of israel?

The first is a literary device, like a poem or edict. The second is in a historical narrative form. Genre is the difference. Scholars and "experts" don't all agree on the literary origins. The two accounts do not need to contradict or be problematic to accepting what is written in them. It is simplest to accept that Moses got the information specifically from God during the 40 years in the wilderness wandering when he would daily meet with Him.
What an excellent comment. The creation stories are neither consistent nor inconsistent. They are best viewed in the context of the historical continuum within which they were written. For instance, the second biblical creation story in Genesis is an incomplete replica of the Sumerian creation stories. The first is clearly 100% ancient Egyptian. I have been in the secret crypt underneath the floor of the Dendera temple in Abydos, Egypt, which contains the "Dendera light bulb," which is pretty much the exact creation myth that is first talked about in Genesis. Just amazing.
No shit? You have really been there?
Yes. Twice. It's utterly amazing. The temple is from the Ptolemaic times (when early Greece ruled Egypt) but the crypt is underground. A sacred place for the priests to secretly teach their most treasured, sacred knowledge.
I do of course wonder how the crypt would have been lighted... haha
Here's what GPT says about it:
I concur with this
You should write a book. I'd buy it
Is it any wonder the human author, Moses, was educated in Egypt? As the story goes in Genesis Joseph was used to organize the prosperity of 7 years to later funnel all the ANE wealth to Egypt and make it the dominant country during that period of history. Later after 40 years of becoming a somebody Moses got to spend 40 years learning to be a nobody to round out his schooling with practical life experience. So we have a guy with literally the best education in the known world with the humility of one pardoned of murder leading God's people to salvation and codifying their history and culture. It's a good story.
