I think it is nonsense. The cameras being destroyed are the ones controlling the low emissions zones in London. Only a tiny number of them aren't working, and the rollout out of the extended zones has been completed. There isn't really any way of getting out of paying the fines. I know a lot of people who live in the charging zone, and none of them have a problem with it.

There is a way out of paying the fine; don’t pay it.
When they put speed cameras in the Anchorage area that’s what most people did too until the cameras were taken down.
