I haven't thought of Maria Montessori or Charlotte Mason in almost 30 years..they have wonderful ideas about learning...excellent reading if you want to understand education. One daughter that was home schooled did not read until she was 10 but she quickly caught up and entered public school 6th grade making mostly straight A's in school. I was confident enough to know that it would all work out thanks to wonderful home school pioneers that understand learning and child development.
History was my absolute favorite in highschool. Brett Pike was a history teacher pre-pandemic and is also a childrens author and patriot.
We use his program for history for my 8 year old. He teaches the constitution and bill of rights to the letter and it's hard for me to walk away while the lesson plays. Thr whole curriculum is fun and games or projects and is 100% worth the $15
