He is right. In Europe there is only the appearance of the separation of powers, also called trias politica.

However, this smart man did not mention one other hack to the system: The Bar.

All these politicians, judges, lawyers have all been brainwashed in the same system, creating the appearance of opposition, or counter forces. All it produces is more laws, bad laws. Even bad amendments and striking of amendments to the Constitution.

What makes a people free? It is not the system per sé. It is not the structure.

From the Declaration of Independence: the indisposition to suffer evil, while evil is sufferable and to right themselves!

That is what makes a people free and keeps them free!
