This is a sensible perspective. There's a tendency to over inflate the "WH are in control" narrative to mean that Trump already has all information and insight needed to execute the long term plan, always being 5 moves ahead. As if he's the first successful politician in all political history to always do the right thing with no course corrections or negative feedback loops from the people to set things in a better direction. I'm done with that persective, there is no GEOTUS he in fact had to deal with daily realities based on "briefings" that may or may not accurately represent the state of affairs for any given issue. There were glaring mistakes in his presidency. Like any good president, no perfect record.
Because Trump has elements that resemble highly functioning narcissistic personality disorder, he has a fundamental inability to apologize or admit a decision or words that were damaging. That is spun as confidence and being in control, but that's a big assumption. Especially when dealing with public health related issues of which NO politician has true expertise and insight. Especially when tied up with endless political witch hunts and attempts to remove him, of course he'll be extra defensive about all his decision making to compensate for the endless lying and bad press. But its not always justified.
