Look. Automation is here to stay. Robotics is here to stay. AI is here to stay. There's nothing wrong with having these technologies to help improve our lives and make it easier for us to live. If implemented properly, these technologies will free us from the mundane tasks keeping us divided and distracted from what truly matters: advancing the human race beyond this planet and plane of existence. We weren't meant to just serve [them]. We're meant for something greater. These techs will ultimately help us achieve greatness as a species/race.
That being said, The People HAVE to have a say in how these techs are implemented. "When" isn't a question any longer. The 4th or 5th Industrial Revolution is here my froggy frens.
The UAW is as corrupt an org as any out there, and more corrupt than most. I think what we're witnessing here is another controlled demolition. The next one will be either in the medical/science sphere of influence or construction (think 3D printed bldgs, med beds, AI infused medical care, etc).
I feel for these workers because they've been gaslit by their union managers/lobbyists into believing they actually have power with this argument. All this strike is going to do is drive prices skyward, where they'll never come back down, further enriching the very people they're striking against. Every time UAW has gone on strike, it's led to increased costs for the auto makers who then passed those costs on to the consumer, INCLUDING their own unionized labor forces. This is why unionized labor has boggles my mind since HS.
If y'all think things are economically bad now, give it a few more months.
Well it will hurt all us mechanics also. esp. ones like me that work at dealerships. Getting parts will be very hard and cost a lot of people a major loss in pay.One of the things they want is a 40% pay increase. Now what do you think that will do to prices? 40%. I work for a Peterbilt assembly plant for a few years. IT WAS THE EASIEST JOB I have ever had. So I can say there jobs are much easier than most people. Do not be fooled. They pay them big bucks to build them and pay us pennies to fix their fuck uos
The factories are always cutting your labor rates. They also stick women in jobs where they don’t know what the hell they are doing. ( girl here, so I can say that, also worked at a hellhole dealership for years).
