They want us to rely on EVs so they can shut off the power and keep us from traveling freely.
In the old Communist East Germany, even after a person got a car after 20 years on the waiting list (and it was a cardboard Trabi body with a 2-cycle lawn mower type engine) they were only allowed to buy fuel at certain stations. They could not drive anywhere they wanted to.
Control the fuel, people can't drive anywhere.
