We have terrible party leaders across the spectrum and a media complex that props up the legacy parties as the only choices. People just hold their noses and vote for whatever color of the Uniparty they hate the least and the cycle keeps repeating itself. When a new party started (the populist People's Party of Canada) the powers that be successfully silenced and sidelined them so it ended up getting little to no traction.
