The confusion comes with the politically correct preachers and ministers in today's churches. Some of the language is also hidden by the translators. The Hebrew and Greek show the truth. Here is one no one likes and explain away all the time. Philippians 2:15 "That you may be blameless and unmixed, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the middle of a crooked and perverse race, among whom you shine as lights in the world." The word "holy" has the meaning, "sacred (physically pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially consecrated)". They won't teach that at any church in town!
