Stop giving YouTube eyes. Yes, for some things it can be hard to avoid, sort of like how reddit is still good for coding, or some non-political research.
People need to be very selective and be aware of just 'channel surfing' like the TV days. Or go for the videos that don't have ads and burn up some YouTube bandwidth.
The only thing that matters is that YouTube suffer massive drops in views on a daily basis and have losses mount.
