My husband (Chinese) was working for China airlines back in the days of Vietnam and told me long ago that Air America was CIA affiliated. Told me tales of those days.
Exactly, China Air and then to Air America. They used to call it French Indo China then later they named it Vietnam.
“Air America” was an air transport and logistics enterprise owned and operated by the Central Intelligence Agency. The agency denied it’s involvement in the airline for years, eventually selling its interest in 1978. Its pilots were considered deniable assets and its aircraft fleet was either sold, destroyed or repatriated. The purpose of Air America was to provide clandestine air support to America’s allies in Southeast Asia. This included search and rescue operations, tactical insertions of special forces, the smuggling of weapons and trafficking of narcotics.
They only changed names later on. Asked You Know the Agency about their air assets today ?
Was this the international arm of JANET?
For JANET that was the airline that flew people to Area 51 and back home out of Vegas. I remember them going under SAT as I witnessed them a few times while on the Green Ramp at a AF Base. They were sectioned off and a restricted area with only those with the proper security clearances could be around the plane. The pilots flight suits were gray.

I was aware JANET was the A51 shuttle, but they're both 'secret' government agency aircraft and it would surprise me none, if they were related somehow.
Capt. that would not surprise me either. They all tie in with uncle Sam. I just saw JANET in Vegas because I had to go to Indian Springs for training. I had not seen them anywhere else. I saw SAT on the green ramp at a AF base.
Pinal Air Park is just up the road. It has been and still is clandestine ops, now under the guise of shell companies. And their workforce is comprised of many "slower" individuals placed by disabled-support orgs.
They went from Air America to SAT. They keep changing the names but it is still the same You Know the Agency.
I wonder how many companies listed in the stock exchange are own by them
I suspect only the successful ones.
Per oldtimer friend of mine (long since gone) --- these were the real chopper rides --- and there wasn't anything funny about it.
Exactly. Weapons flown in and drugs flown out.
bodies delivered
Speaking of bodies. they even transported drugs hidden in the remains of service people who were killed in Vietnam.
