Sadly, that trope is one of the more effective marketing ploys the DS unleashed.

Not only did it work for commies and libs, but it worked on nearly all of the RINO, Country Club Republicans too.

Nearly every R I know that is a Never Trumper basically pulls that line out.

And there I am, thinking to myself, our country is literally sinking into the sands of time, never to be itself again, and all they can say is "Trump says mean things!"
