Circumstantial evidence is indirect evidence that does not, on its face, prove a fact in issue but gives rise to a logical inference that the fact exists. That's what you have here with the DEW theory. No one is really denying that this is a possibility. Personally, I believe the possibility of it, but also recognize this has next to no feet to travel with the public. See my other response for a more detailed explanation.
