It took me a few hours after the alert yesterday to realize that my phone lost connection (I misplaced it and when I called from another phone it went straight to vm). I use Verizon. Looking at the phone you wouldn't think anything was wrong. I had to restart my phone to restore. Weird, but all was well.
Then today the same thing happened again, only without the alert and it was probably about the same time as when the alert went off here yesterday. I called Verizon to make them aware, and they informed me that the satellites they use are the same ones used for the national alert system.
Maybe something, maybe nothing, but wanted to post for awareness.
I actually tried them early last year. Unfortunately, as much as I loved the company the coverage was super spotty. I had to switch back to Verizon (not happy about that).
I had T-mobile, switched to patriot, had spotty coverage, switched back to T-mobile, they charged me a $100 fee for a temporary number that I had for less than an hour, tried to get them to waive the fee, they said no, I switched back to patriot and I was going to suffer through the spotty coverage, found out I could get an At&t Sim card and I've had no complaints so far for the past 6 months since I switched sims.
My point being, you don't have to use a Verizon Sim in your patriot phone.
