I heard something the other day (can't remember who was being interviewed or whether it was on OAN or some site I was reading) that said House Rules would not allow him to be Speaker. Something about not being able to be speaker while under indictments. I don't know if it was true or not - just posting to see if anyone else knows something about this.
Also if it is just one of the House Rules they can of course be changed, but again I don't know what the process is to do that. Do they need a majority or super-majority vote? Can the Speaker change them? Does there have to be a permanent Speaker to start that process? No idea.
I don't know about that. Anybody can be under indictment for anything. It would just be too easy of a way to block someone. Just indict the person and then a year later when the trial starts cancel the indictment.

Thanks - I knew I saw it somewhere but it all blurs together sometimes.
