Trump doesn’t have to be Speaker today. The POTUS appoints the VP when there’s an absence. So, if POTUS and VP are removed, the Republican Speaker becomes POTUS and can appoint Trump as VP then resign, moving Trump to POTUS.
The Senate is not as divided as the numbers suggest. Four years ago the Democrats never would have voted with a small band of “radical” Republicans to oust a Republican speaker. I guess that when “the storm is upon us” the senate will come through.
