Got a few glocks on my permit as a european.. It's just mandatory to have them in a safe with the ammo separately, and there's no such thing as castle law. Theoretically, if the burglar has a gun you'd be allowed to use one too, but not if he has a knife. The level of threat must be "equal" in good commie fasion.
If you shoot him, it's called "self defense in excess". You'd still go to jail, but the sentence would be lighter than murder or manslaughter. But the chance of ever legally owning a gun again is 0.
