Sorry, New York City alone, not the state. My first ever trip to the US was to NYC, never going back there again. Loved the +10 subsequent trips to the so called "fly over states", planning my next trip now. Think Missouri this time, never been there before

If you want to visit a calm and relaxing part of America I suggest keystone South Dakota. Mount Rushmore is very close by and the are is very beautiful and the locals are live and let live people there. Mostly armed and that is good, very low crime rate there.
