Housing is in a bubble. So that’s not a good investment right now. Obviously when the precipice is over Trump will fix everything and people will get their value back in their federal reserve notes. But just something temporary for them to invest in so they don’t lose their minds when the crash comes.
With respect to housing, don't let the prices intimidate you.
If you see something you like, make an offer that's good for you and see what happens. Especially if it's been festering on the market a while. Puff it up a bit with your personal story.
"We saw your home and my wife fell in love with it. It's out of our price range but I wanted to make an offer of $XYZ just so we could say we gave it a shot. You could wait for someone to pay it's full worth but my wife and I can close the deal now and we'll take great care of the place."
