Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evoloving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Actually, yes!
I was talking to my mother about an item that we have in our home, that I thought was some thing that was my husbands…. He had died 15 years ago. So we had a brief conversation about him. Aaron.
Anyway, the very next day I went to get my teeth cleaned. I’ve been going to the same dentist for over 20 years, however, his office is growing, and he has a new dental assistant. She happen to be the one that cleaned my teeth.
At the end of my appointment, she asked me about my last name. It’s a very odd last name, and very rare. She asked me if I knew. Xxx xxx (insert last name here). I told her yes, those are my in-laws - and that I was married to Aaron, their son, the one that died. Her face just dropped and so did mine.
It was just so bizarre, because we were just talking about him the day before. It’s been so many years, but it hit me really hard that day. We both just hugged. Apparently when he was growing up, she was the one that used to clean his teeth.
Weird!
Even weirder than that, I had to meet up with my boss on the way back to my house, and it happened to be a few blocks away from the cemetery where he’s at. Well, he’s not there, but his head stone is. So I stop there on the way home because I hadn’t been there for a while.
Sorry to hear about your Husband. Nice that you were able to coincidently visit. If you don't mind me asking, does this happen often to you? For me personally, most of it doesn't seem to have any meaning, or I can't find meaning. It just happens.
Well, I think it happens sometimes, because our phones listen to us, and it will prompt some thing to pop up when you’re scrolling through Instagram, or YouTube. So this does happen quite frequently, but I don’t think it’s organic.
On the other hand, yes, things like this to happen to me a lot, but I do have a weird life. The thing with my husband could not have been planned by google, or anybody else for that matter. Although I don’t really believe in coincidence, my mom said I should pray to the Lord and ask what it is he’s trying to tell me.
If you have repetitive things like this, that occur in your life, that may be seemingly innocent… Maybe God is trying to speak to you in another manner.
If you find that this is happening quite frequently, then maybe you should keep a notebook of specific things, and try to figure out if God is speaking to you.
Life is an interesting journey. Look into your thoughts, and see what you can find. Journaling and keeping track of these things may lead you down a path where you find out magnificent things about yourself and God!
Edit: on a sidenote, if you are autistic or have ADHD, you’ll be more likely to see patterns, and solve problems in life, noticing patterns that other people don’t. I am one of those.
