A friend, M., committed suicide in the late hours of last night. M. had suffered the deaths of many of her family members over the last year. She had a gun and her husband was trying to talk her out of shooting herself. He failed and she shot through her head in front of him. He ran to the neighbor's house and called police who talked with him until 4 am. M's son has been on trouble over the yrs and is mentally fragile. They need prayers. Thank you.

Alright, thank you. That's bad enough but I was afraid he was a child. God bless him, what a horrible legacy she has left him. I sincerely pray he and his dad are able to gather themselves, become even closer as father and son, and forgive her and move on to fulfilling lives. So tragic.
Her husband said he was totally blindsided. He had no clue she was suicidal. She went to the bedroom, woke him up, he followed her, she said she was going to shoot herself, he tried to talk her down, thought he had, he went for the gun and she pulled the trigger. I mean my God, she woke him up so he could see her shoot herself. Why not just do it? God knows he would have seen her but at least he would not have had to watch. He adored her. I cannot wrap my head around her doing this. It's cruel and she was not a cruel person.
My gosh, you're right. That is so much worse. What must she have been thinking? What pushed her over the edge like that? Losing her family members would have been hard, but her most important family members, her husband and son, should have / would have outweighed the others (you'd think) - unless something made her literally lose her mind. That's why I had originally asked about the drug. I only recently heard about it, myself. I believe it's called ozempic. I don't even know what it's supposed to be prescribed for, but apparently, a side effect is weight loss, so now a lot of people are asking for it for that purpose. I understand she wasn't taking it, but I do wonder if she might have been on some other medication that could have affected her adversely. Who knows? Sometimes life just gets to be too much for some people. I just feel so badly for her husband and son, and now to learn she specifically woke him up to watch. As you said, it's cruel, and that was uncharacteristic of her. Another anomaly. Why was she acting so out of character? Well, she is gone now but they are still here and I pray they will be able to get over this and grow closer to each other. I hope the son doesn't in any way blame the father (you should have stopped her, you could have grabbed the gun, why didn't you know she felt this way?) That sort of thing. Hopefully it just pulls them closer to each other.
Thank you and as far as I know at this point, son and dad are helping each other through the tragedy.
I'll find out more, I'm sure as time goes on. She had been a drinker - pretty heavy at one time but she had supposedly stopped - maybe not.
I'm glad they are working through it together. Thanks for that.
