"From Syria" does not necessarily mean that Syria is the one launching the rockets. Islamic militant groups have launched from there before. They pull up with a truck-mounted rocket launcher (Kaytusha, Fajr-5, and various home made rockets/mortars) launch their load and drive away. They are unguided rockets with a range of about 12-13 miles. Iron dome was built to defend against just that.
