This is the correct answer. ChatGPT does not search the web in realtime when you ask it a question. It only searches its training material. That material was gathered from the internet two years ago. Anything since then doesn't exist as far as the bot knows.
There are other bots that do search in realtime- Bing and Bard for example.
To create ChatGPT part of what happened was that It scraped data from a bunch of sites deemed "trustworthy " by its engineers. If what it learned was bias, it will sound bias since chat GPT is not design to logically think out concepts, it is design to send responses that sound like a valid response.
I asked it if Ukraine shooting a missile into Poland would trigger article 5. Took it about 4 prompts before it finally admitted that ukraine isn't in nato and a missile attack against Poland (which happened) would activate art 5
ChatGPT is limited to events before 2021 based on the data it was trained on, although to be fair, rockets have been happening for years before that.

But even Google provides basic answers, such as the tunnels from Egypt. It's just funny that they would program it to avoid even obvious things.
It possible they programmed to to avoid questions but its also possible that it did not gather that information.
Chat GPT is owned and controlled by Microsoft. So yeah not exactly forthcoming with the truth
It's just funny that they have it rigged so it won't even supply an easily obtained answer to a question.
